With a focus on innovation and differentiation, it is essential for companies like HUBER+SUHNER to stay one step ahead of the competition. In the last two years, many activities have been carried out around the successful LISA system. In addition to the introduction of new cartridges, chassis and the LISA Double Access system, the supply chain has been streamlined and adapted to better meet the needs of our customers. In the image below you can see the improvements that the third generation cartridges bring.
- Protection of supply cables – easier handling without the use of pull-tabs
- Removable holder for 2mm and 3mm cables, which is placed in the protection according to the cable diameter (1.)
- Safety against breakage of fibres during handling – compared to Generation 2 cassettes, there is a fixed rear part
Second Generation LiSA – Discard and Elimination
To further optimize our portfolio, the management of the FDC division has decided that the LISA color cartridges and second generation chassis will be eliminated by the end of 2019.
As a result of this decision, the supply chain will ensure regular production of second-generation items until the end of June 2019. Starting in July 2019, a re-sale will begin and all items will be phased out. The last purchase is planned for the end of September 2019 and the last orders will be possible in October/November 2019 if components are available. All second generation items and components will be removed by the end of December 2019. Buying stock and storing it in our warehouse will not be supported.
Summary:
- Gradual re-sale from July
- Last purchase by the end of September 2019 (if material is available)
- Last production October / November 2019
- Removal of components and sales items by the end of 2019
